HELLO MARCH!
I love this time of year - seeing budding flowers, feeling the sun on my face, knowing there are brighter days ahead. I hope you too are enjoying the shift in seasons! Here are some self-care reminders as we inch closer into spring.
1. Spring is right around the corner...
The arrival of warmer temperatures and blooming flowers can increase feelings of happiness and positivity. This is often referred to as "spring fever" and can lead to improved overall mood as people spend more time outdoors.
You can make your own luck
"Making your own luck" means taking control of your circumstances and actively creating opportunities for success, rather than waiting for luck to just happen. It's the idea that through hard work, persistence, preparation, and a positive mindset, you can shape your own future and increase your chances of achieving your goals, rather than relying on chance or fate. You got this!

Spring brings new beginnings
Spring symbolizes new beginnings because of the natural rebirth that occurs, with plants blooming and animals emerging from hibernation. The warmer weather and longer days bring a sense of renewal, boosting energy and optimism for personal growth. Many cultures also associate spring with cleansing and fresh starts, making it a time to embrace change and new opportunities. I've been shifting my planner to start in April, which feels very in line with the natural order of things!
Green symbolizes growth and renewal
Green is the color of plants, trees, and grass, which thrive during spring and represent life’s constant cycle of renewal. The color is associated with nature’s ability to regenerate, with new growth and vitality emerging after the dormant winter months. Green also has a calming and refreshing effect, reinforcing its connection to renewal and positive change.
Goodbye, winter blues!
The "winter blues" refer to a feeling of sadness, low energy, or mild depression that some people experience during the colder, darker months of winter. It is often linked to the lack of sunlight, which can affect mood and disrupt sleep patterns. The spring season brings more sunlight, which boosts serotonin levels in the brain, helping improve mood and reduce feelings of depression. I often feel my mood improving around this time.

Take time to reconnect with nature
Connecting with nature has numerous benefits, including reduced stress, improved mood, and enhanced mental clarity. Spending time outdoors can also boost creativity, increase physical activity, and promote overall well-being by fostering a sense of calm and connection to the environment. I love drawing from life during the warmer months - I take my sketchbook out while hiking and draw from nature, which helps me feel more connected.
